The former president's Granddaughter Receives Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance

Emerging athlete getting ready for major tournament

This young athlete has impressive online audience

Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known supporters when she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, obtained a sponsor's invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and often plays against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."

"My grandpa practically suggested to play and enjoy myself," she explained.

"To me, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in AJGA standings.

But she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.

"He stands as the greatest golfer globally," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's a more impressive person. He told me to go out there, relax, adapting to whatever happens."

Kai will face multiple top competitors in women's golf at this tournament, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

The LPGA commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, specifically reaching younger fans.

Kai has substantial online presence and just introduced her own fashion and living brand.

The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
